My name is Alisha Allison.
I am a graduate student at the Craig Newmark School of Journalism at CUNY. I obtained a Political Science BA and Journalism certificate from University at Buffalo.
I gained my journalism experience through the courses I took as an undergraduate student at University at Buffalo, as a writer for The Spectrum, and a national writer for Her Campus.
The Spectrum is a student-led newspaper at the University at Buffalo. I started as a staff writer through the course, ENG 394: Writing Workshop in Spring of 2022. I was also a contributing writer. My final position was as an Assistant News Editor.
Her Campus is an online magazine publication for college women. I am a part of their National Writer Program, a selective program in which a team of student journalists nationwide work with the editorial team to create content their website. I primarily write articles for their entertainment section. Prior to becoming a national writer, I wrote for Her Campus at Buffalo, which is the college chapter of the national publication.
